Statement Of Faith

What we believe:
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God.
They are without error in original writings, the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak, and the complete and sufficient revelation of God’s will for redeeming mankind.

We believe in one true God, self-existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Godhead possesses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of His personality. Each executes distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

We believe in God the Father. He is an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is fully God and fully man in one person. We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal and visible return from heaven.

We believe in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, come into the world to reveal and
glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. He enables believers to understand biblical truth, empowers them for godly living, and equips them for service and witness.

We believe people in their natural state are sinful, separated from God and entirely unable to save themselves. Though God created Adam and Eve in the divine image and free from sin, they sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. As a result of Adam´s sin, man´s nature is corrupted, he is spiritually dead in sin, and he is thus totally unable to please God. Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

We believe people are saved from sin by a work of God´s free grace alone. It is not the work, in whole or in part, of human act or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby become justified in His sight. We believe there is no other means of salvation, that at the moment of regeneration we are passed from death to life, and that it is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior.

We believe in the present and continuing ministry of sanctification by the Holy Spirit by whose infilling the believing Christian is cleansed and empowered for a life of holiness and service.

We believe in one holy, universal church of which Jesus Christ is the head. The true church is composed of all persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Its local manifestation is an autonomous assembly of believers joined together for worship, instruction, service and evangelism. Its ordinances are believers’ baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost. At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting life. At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation.

We believe in the personal, visible and bodily return of Jesus Christ. At this time, he will consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
